In February 1990, Gregg Davenport and his mother, Claire, opened Davenport’s Family Restaurant at 1070 Mendon Road, Cumberland, RI.
At that time, the entire restaurant consisted of one room. One year later, they expanded the menu with the addition of beer and wine. With the loyalty and support of their wonderful clientele, it was only a few short months later before Davenport's acquired the entire building. They received a full liquor license which enabled them to build the lounge area.
In February 2000, Davenport’s Bar & Grill was opened at 1925 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence, RI as their second location. Today this location consists of three dining rooms, a lounge area, outside patio dining, and a banquet room which accommodates 80 people for various functions.
“Quality means Freshness at Davenport’s”. Davenport's is fully committed to preparing and serving food of uncompromising freshness and quality, with their everyday specials and extensive menu for everyone. It is Davenport's goal to make sure that guests always leave with a smile.
Although owning a restaurant comes with a lot of challenges, it is with the dedication and hard work of Davenport's employees that they are able to be so successful.
